I'm a writer and editor interested in drugs, poverty, gender, labor, crime, and subcultures of all kinds. Longreads named my cover story about psychics who advise Silicon Valley one of the top five reads of the week in July 2015. I'm currently features editor at the Poetry Foundation, which publishes America's leading poetry magazine. I previously worked at Mother Jones and SF Weekly, where I was a staff writer and co-editor. I live in San Francisco.
